GEAR UP FOR THE ANNUAL BUNDANOON IS
BRIGADOON SCOTTISH CELEBRATION AND
REMEMBER - NO BOTTLED WATER ALLOWED!
AT THE SOUTHERN edge of the Highlands, Bundanoon's position on
the edge of deep valleys and escarpments of the Great Dividing Range
has made it a mecca for travellers who love hiking, mountain biking,
and the great outdoors.
A well-equipped bike shop is the place to stop for repairs, parts,
new bikes and information on the great Highland Fling - an annual
100km bike race through Penrose Fores - or a liesurely ride along well-
marked tracks in the area. There are parks, playgrounds,
accommodation in all forms surrounding the town, which manages to
maintain its sleepy town atmosphere despite its popularity. Let yourself
be pampered at the Solar Springs Health Retreat or stroll to the Glow
Worm Glen at night for a magical experience.
Did you know
The town was originally called Jordan's Crossing after
Charles Jordan through whose property the rail line
passed. Also known as Barren Grounds, the Aboriginal
name of Bundanoon became official in 1881.
