SOMETHING OLD WILL BE THE ORDER OF
THE DAY AT THE 25TH ANNUAL SOUTHERN
HIGHLANDS ANTIQUES FAIR IN MAY.
ABOUT 20 DEALERS from around the country will come together at
the Bowral Memorial Hall to showcase a selection of antiques on
Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6.
Organised by antiques dealer Mick Dalton, this event has
become a great drawcard for collectors, both serious and novice
Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and
incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest.
Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale
is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers
all together under one roof, instead of travelling to twenty
Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European
porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectibles and furniture, both
rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride.
The dealers themselves are endeavouring to supply as much
information as possible to help the collector.
The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is a major fundraiser for the
Bowral and District Hospital Auxiliary, which will provide delicious
light lunches and morning and afternoon teas throughout the
weekend of the fair as well as a raffle and a stall selling cakes,
biscuits and jams.
The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is open to the public from
9am until 5pm on Saturday, May 5 and from 10am until 4pm on
Sunday, May 6.
Admission is $8 for adults and includes a lucky door prize ticket.
Accompanied children are free.
The Bowral Memorial Hall is situated in Bendooley Street,
Bowral, parallel to Bong Bong Street, in the centre of town. There is
plenty of parking available nearby and wheelchair access into the
