TULIP TIME 2011 celebrates its 51st festival with many of the
2010 Golden Jubilee special events again on the calendar.
For the duration of the 14-day festival visitors can enjoy a
changing program of events including live entertainment and
market stalls in Corbett Gardens, Food and Wine Fair, House
and Garden Expo, Tulip Time Street Parade and more.
Charity partner: Parkinson's NSW. Ambassador: Marty
Rhone (Entertainer). Theme platform: 'Hope and Strength'.
PERFORMING 4 PARKINSON'S: Tulip Time Dinner Dance:
September 22, 6.30pm--11pm. A grand night of great
performing artists who brought the '70s Countdown era to
life. Marty Rhone (Tulip Time Ambassador), John Paul Young,
Dinah Lee and Ray Burgess. Hosted by Donnie Sutherland
at the Mittagong RSL. Celebrate Tulip Time in an atmosphere
filled with live music, dancing and three-course dinner.
PICNIC IN THE PARK 4 PARKINSON'S: Tulip Time
Community Breakfast in the Park: Friday, September 23,
7am-9am. Free breakfast for the whole community.
PARADE 4 PARKINSON'S: Saturday, September 24, 3pm.
The Tulip Time Street Parade attracts thousands of spectators
along Bong Bong Street, Bowral. Marching bands,
community groups, car clubs, animals and more all perform.
PEDALLING 4 PARKINSON'S: Sydney Cycling Club
Ride: Saturday, September 24, 3pm. Sydney Cycling Club
participants 'Ride for a Reason' from Sydney to Bowral.
PAGEANT with PURPOSE
4 PARKINSON'S: Tulip
Time QUEEN: Thursday, September 22, 7pm. This year's
crowning will take place at the Tulip Time Dinner Dance at
the Mittagong RSL.
PRODUCE 4 PARKINSON'S: Food and Wine Fair:
Saturday, September 24 and Sunday September 25. A
two-day street fair celebrating food and wine of the Southern
Highlands and beyond. Open Saturday, September 24
evening for 'Tulips After Dark'.
PROPERTY 4 PARKINSON'S: House and Garden Expo. A
two-day street expo highlighting products for the house and
garden. Stalls line the street adjacent to Corbett Gardens.
TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIPS: Tour through Corbett
Gardens: September 20 -- October 3. Free self-guided tour
through Corbett Gardens' tulip beds. Identifying tulips and
notable tree specimens. Available at entry gates and Tulip
Time Information Office.
PARTY 4 PARKINSON'S: Tulips After Dark: September 24
6.30pm-9pm. The lighting of Corbett Gardens followed by
live music, night markets and stalls. Entertainment includes
Luke Lukess from My Future Lies and retro band One Eyed
Jacks for a great night.
PITCHING 4 PARKINSON'S: Three festive golf days filled
with golfing challenges, on-course competitions and celebrity
guests. Win a new Peugeot 3008XSE HDi courtesy of Allan
Mackay Autos, in the Hole-in-One Competition.
PAINT THE TOWN PURPLE 4 PARKINSON'S: Shire-wide
shop window displays. Retail shops throughout the shire fill
their windows with purple. Winners will be announced at the
Business Expo on September 22.
