The popular A Day on The Green concert series continues
with UK superstars Simply Red performing at the next event as
part of their worldwide farewell tour.
The Mick Hucknall-led band will perform at Centennial Vineyards,
Bowral, in a special concert on Monday, October 4, (Labour Day
long weekend). With Marcia Hines and Ross Wilson as special
guests, the concert is definitely not to be missed.
Simply Red's classic pop and elegant ballads have provided
an uplifting and emotional soundtrack to our turbulent times.
The band are saying their farewells all over the world this
year, after what has been a remarkable 25 years.
"I could never have imagined my career would bring me
so far," Mick Hucknall said. "We want to share this closing
anniversary with all the people who have enjoyed our sound
throughout the years. We all hope to see you at a show
Since their first tour in 1985, Simply Red have played more
than 1100 shows to more than 11 million people, notched
up more than 55 million global sales, more than 31 Top 40
UK singles, three BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novellos, two US
No1 Singles and a MOBO Special Achievement.
They'll be playing all their hits such as Money's Too Tight
To Mention, Holding Back The Years, The Right Thing, Stars,
Fairground, If You Don't Know Me By Now, Something Got
Me Started and A New Flame. The concert kicks off the
popular winery event's 10th anniversary season, with a series
of great shows planned for the upcoming summer.
A Day on The Green is a fully licensed event. Strictly no
BYO alcohol. Food will be available for purchase on site or
BYO picnic. Picnic rugs and deck chairs are recommended.
