Island Tours in partnership with
Conservation Voulunteers Australia
provide fully-catered and fully-
guided experiences overnight at
Montague Island. These are
regularly scheduled throughout the
year through Conservation
Ideal for individuals, couples or
groups looking for a unique
getaway which allows you to
make a difference by putting
something back into the Island.
Ages 15 years and over -
exceptions made for sole
Each stay provides the opportunity
for you to participate in
conservation projects taking place
on the island and contribute to the
long term protection of the island's
Little Penguin Colony. Participation
is optional and no prior experience
You stay guesthouse-style in the
restored Head Keepers Quarters.
You can join an existing scheduled
tour, or book a date for you or your
own group. Tours are subject to
minimum numbers and sea and
Tours are generally for two-nights
duration, leaving at 9.30am and
returning at lunchtime on the third
There are also morning and
evening, guided 3-4 hour tours are
available regularly year-round,
subject to weather and minimum
numbers. Suitable for any age.
Morning tours - explore the island's
rich environment, unique wildlife
and fascinating history.
Evening tours - (available only in
season) explore the island and also
feature viewing of Little Penguins as
they come ashore ashore at dusk.
In season (spring), all tours feature
whale-watching during the annual
southern humpback migration.

Your exciting boat ride out there is
provided by Narooma Charters, in
one of their fully-sur veyed vessels.
A fully-trained NPWS guide will
help you understand and obser ve
the abundant wildlife on and
around the island. Every trip is
unique, but your tour may include
sea birds, birds of prey, fur seals,
fish, whales and dolphins and

Thousands of years of Aboriginal
heritage and over 125 years of
lighthouse history will be brought to
life during your tour.
