Mogo Zoo is situated in the picturesque
historic gold mining village of Mogo, 10
kilometres south of Batemans Bay.
Providing world-standard facilities for over
200 animals of more than 41 rare and
exotic species, Mogo Zoo is committed to
the conser vation of endangered species
and is extensively involved in various
Species Management Programs. Recent
breeding success has resulted in several
births including the silvery gibbon, cotton-
top tamarin, golden-lion tamarin, siamang
and pygmy marmoset.
Mogo Zoo exhibits an extraordinary
menagerie of animals, including the
majestic White Lion, Chimpanzee (new
exhibit), Pygmy Marmoset (smallest mon-
key in the world), Giraffe, Silvery Gibbon
(new exhibit), Meerkat, Nepalese Red
Panda, Golden Lion Tamarin, Ring-tailed
Lemur, Brazilian Tapir, Sumatran Tiger,
Oriental Small-clawed Otter, Snow
Leopard and Zebra. Additionally, the Zoo
boasts the largest collection of primates in
any private Zoo in Australia.
Mogo Zoo has attained the earnest
reputation as being one of the most suc-
cessful private Zoos in Australia, winning
the Regional Attraction Award in the South
Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism in
2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
At Mogo Zoo you will be intrigued by
close encounters with an array of endan-
gered and exotic animals from around the
globe - a truly unique experience!
The keeper talks and feeding sessions are
educational and provide visitors with an
insight into the natural behaviours of the
Mogo Zoo features beautiful picnic
grounds set in luscious wildlife surrounds,
barbeque facilities situated just metres from
the exhibits, café and gift shop.
It is Mogo Zoo's aim to involve and to
educate the public at large and offer its
visitors an intimate, educational Zoo expe-
rience. Mogo Zoo is open 7 days a
week (excluding Christmas day).
Keeper talks and feeding sessions com-
mence daily at 10.30am and 1.30pm.
The white lions are generally fed during
the morning session only.
